Structural fabrication shops need reliable plate supply at scale: consistent material quality, accurate cutting, beveled edges for weld prep, and on-time delivery across repeat orders.

Commonly compared grades are not automatic substitutes. Confirm chemistry, mechanical requirements, testing, and certification against your project specification before production.
Large Format Plate Advantage
YUNCUT's maximum flame cutting panel size is 5500mm × 30000mm. For large structural components — long beam webs, large gussets, oversized base plates — this can remove the need for intermediate splices in many cases.
Laser cutting handles up to 3500mm × 26000mm. For structural plates in the laser thickness range (0.5–55mm), this is sufficient for most standard structural members. Parts that exceed laser panel size or thickness move to flame.
Tolerances for Structural Applications
Many structural plate applications work with ±0.5–1mm tolerance — the typical achievable range for flame cutting. Connection plates, base plates, and frame members typically assemble within this tolerance range using standard structural fit-up procedures.
Components that require tighter tolerance — precision-machined interfaces, fit-critical connections — should be called out specifically in the drawing. For these, laser cutting at ±0.1 ~ ±0.3 mm is specified on those dimensions, and the rest of the part may still be flame cut.
Beveling for Weld Preparation
Bevel preparation is standard for structural fabrication. Full penetration welds on thicker plate typically require a prepared joint edge. YUNCUT provides bevel cutting from 0° to 85° as part of the cutting order.
Specify bevel angle, joint type (V, K, or X groove), land height, and which edges require beveling. This information should be on the drawing — if it is not, include it in your order notes. Beveling is priced per meter of beveled edge.
High-Volume Capacity
Scalable cutting and fabrication resources support both recurring production and project-based demand across YUNCUT's two facilities in Suzhou (Jiangsu Province) and Jining (Shandong Province). High-volume structural programs are distributed across both facilities when required.

Quality Documentation for Fabricators
Standard documentation: Chinese mill certificate confirming grade, heat number, and mechanical properties (similar in purpose to EN 10204 3.1). Available on request: dimensional inspection report with measurements against drawing. By arrangement: third-party inspection certificate to EN or ASTM format. Pre-shipment photos and inspection are standard before balance payment. Specify documentation requirements at quotation stage.
