Laser vs. Flame Cutting — How to Choose
Laser cutting is not always the better option. The right choice depends on plate thickness, required tolerance, edge condition, and your application.

Choose laser cutting when:
- Plate thickness is 55mm or below
- Tolerance tighter than ±0.5mm is required
- Parts have complex shapes, tight holes, or intricate profiles
- Clean edge condition matters for welding, coating, or assembly
Choose flame cutting when:
- Plate thickness exceeds 55mm
- Tolerance of ±1mm is acceptable
- Large format panels are required (up to 5500×30000mm)
- High volume heavy structural plate where cost efficiency matters
